The St. Peter Church and School Story: Growing Together in Faith
St. Peter Church and School began in 2006 as a church plant from Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst, under the leadership of Pastor Robert Balduc. The congregation initially worshiped in the Roanoke recreation center for four years before purchasing 10 acres of land and building its first facility, which also marked the beginning of the church's Preschool.
The church's entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to Kingdom growth led to planting The Vine church in Grapevine in 2012, the same year they built "The Barn," a versatile community gathering space. In 2013, St. Peter Church and School transitioned to a co-vocational staffing strategy, empowering the "priesthood of all believers" and freeing more resources for mission and ministry.
This bold approach to ministry continued with the planting of The Grove church in Argyle in 2020, followed by the purchase of 6 additional acres in 2022. Today, St. Peter Church and School is expanding its facilities to grow its preschool and establish a Christian elementary school, while also partnering with Greater Northwest Soccer Association to develop multiple sports fields on its property.
St. Peter Church and School's story is still being written, as the church remains committed to being bold, entrepreneurial, and mission-minded in advancing the Kingdom of God for His glory!
Worship Experience at St. Peter Church and School: Ancient Word. Sacrament. Modern Music. Message.
At St. Peter Church and School, worship is participatory, Christ-centered, and focused on the forgiveness of sins within an "Ancient Word / Modern Music" context. This approach honors the rich traditions of Christian worship while embracing contemporary expressions that speak to today's believers.
Every Sunday at 10:00 AM, both in-person and online, the congregation gathers to experience:
- Engaging worship that combines traditional sacrament and contemporary music
- Biblical teaching that applies to everyday life
- Weekly celebration of the Lord's Supper
- A welcoming atmosphere for all ages and backgrounds
As the church's motto states: "Ancient Word. Sacrament. Modern Music. Message." These four elements form the foundation of the St. Peter Church and School worship experience, creating a space where both tradition and innovation are valued.
Faith and Beliefs: Rooted in Scripture, Growing in Grace
St. Peter Church and School is part of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), a denomination known for its commitment to biblical authority and confessional Lutheran teachings. The church believes in:

- Jesus Christ as the Son of God who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all humanity
- The Holy Spirit's work in creating faith through God's Word and Sacraments
- Grace alone, faith alone, Scripture alone as the foundation of salvation
While firmly rooted in Lutheran tradition, St. Peter Church and School welcomes people from all denominational backgrounds and those with no church background at all. The focus is on Jesus Christ and His transformative work in our lives, not on denominational distinctions.
